Your text and QR codes

QR codes are generated on your device. The generator does not upload your text to an application API, and it does not keep a clipboard history.

New CopyQR transfer links put text after the # in the link. This part is not sent in an HTTP request when someone opens the link. It is still readable by the receiving page and anyone who has the link. Links are not encrypted messages and do not expire.

Browser history and older links

Shared text may remain in browser history, in a saved QR image, or in a copied link. Avoid using this tool for secrets that should not be shared this way.

Older links use a ?text= query. Their initial request includes the text and may be recorded in hosting or proxy logs. CopyQR still reads these links and moves their text into a fragment in the address bar. This cannot undo the initial request or any existing logs.

Copying, sharing, and Direct mode

Copy actions write to your device’s clipboard when your browser permits it. Other apps on your device may have access to clipboard content. Sharing sends the QR image to the app or destination you choose.

In Direct mode, a code contains the text, URL, Wi-Fi details, contact card, or email content itself. Your scanner decides how to open it. Opening an external URL or sending an email is handled by the destination service.

Storage and optional offline access

Your selected theme may be saved in local storage. Optional offline access saves fixed app files, such as the page, styles, and QR library. It does not save typed text, QR images, or personalized receiving URLs. You can remove these app files with Disable offline access.

Browser features such as history, autofill, and clipboard storage have their own settings. CopyQR’s Clear action clears its current content; it does not erase browser history or your operating system’s clipboard.

Analytics and third-party requests

The application includes no analytics or advertising scripts. Its QR library is served from the same site, rather than fetched from a third-party CDN.

The hosting provider may process connection information, including IP addresses and request paths. Its logging and retention policies depend on the site’s hosting configuration.
